How to increase Battery Life
Here we are again with a hot one. I guess some of you are having battery issues.
Anyways, in this article i will expose some dos and don’ts when its comes to laptop battery life.
Tricks to increase or improve battery life and performance
lets ride on with these tricks.
- Use battery saver mode
The power saving mode on laptops have been tested by technicians including me, its a great feature that improves battery performance. Although when switched on, you might notice a slight decrease in performance. Therefore always use battery saver when utilizing low performance software or jobs, for example
- when seeing a movie
- when browsing the internet
- when installing applications
Note: Never use battery saver mode to play games or for high graphics jobs.
2. Disconnect unused peripherals
Any unused peripherals such as external hard drive or webcam when using battery power should be disconnected, because they also cause battery lose when connected to the laptop even idle
3. Avoid draining battery to 0%
It is so funny that we use our laptops till it powers off by itself (0%) , this can decrease battery lifespan drastically. It is advisable that you never drain your battery below 15%,yeah its achievable, this extends battery life, making it efficient. Battery subjected to much work can lead to deterioration.
4. Unplug laptop charger when fully charged
I know we are all guilty here, am I wrong?
Laptop users are warned not to keep their laptops plugged in all the time, because laptops plugged in constantly actually have a lesser number of cycles (when battery is drained, then plugged in to recharge means a cycle) than those who kept their batteries between 20% to 80%.
Continuous charge is deteriorating agent for batteries, take it as overfeeding, yeah see it that way, smiles.
5. Don’t game with DC( battery gaming)
Why do you prefer gaming with battery, when you know that AC gaming increases performance.
Gaming consumes power, and battery power is lesser than AC power, so using your battery to game will drastically reduce your battery lifespan.
I know you have witnessed this, your battery that was lasting for 4 hours a while ago no longer last for an hour, yes its not my fault but yours.
No one is perfect, you can have your bias in this subject matter, but technically everything here has been tested by forttechonline technicians.
Feel free to comment your bias, we would get back to u ASAP.
